10 Favorite Things

I wrote this really fabulous post yesterday with all my favorite baby names right now, but then my friend Diana reminded me that I have lots of pregnant friends & I don't need to share my names so that no one will steal them!! So I moved on to the next topic on my brain... I was thinking the other day about how I tend to be really loyal to certain things when I find something fabulous that I like! Just for fun, I started trying to think of my 10 favorite things that I use or do or read or watch regularly. The list obviously doesn't include my family or friends because they would top any list of favorites. So using only things , this is the best I could do... 1.Young Adult Vampire Stuff Twilight , Buffy , Vampire Diaries - I love all those! True Blood , I just can't do. So I finally realized I am a young adult vampire fan. I always said I didn't like Buffy for the vampires - it was the satirical & sarcastic humor. I didn't like Twilight for the vampires ...

10 on Tuesday: 10 Favorite Characters From TV

Buffy  Buffy the Vampire Slayer Duh, did you read my other post about how much I love Buffy? I love that she is girl power personified. She's strong, but vulnerable. She goes through a lot. She has great friends. She just rocks. Chandler Bing Friends He's completely hilarious. Who doesn't love Chandler? He never fails to make me laugh. I love the sarcasm & the quick wit, but at the same time, when he gets serious or choked up, I totally break down.  Sheldon Cooper  The Big Bang Theory Oh he's so wonderfully weird and quirky! I love the OCD & the complete inability to recognize sarcasm or humor. Bazinga! Temperance Brennan Bones She's another one with complete social awkwardness. She doesn't understand pop culture or sarcasm. She cracks me up so much! But lately she's been learning to break down her defenses & it just makes me totally love that character even more!  Brooke Davis One Tree Hill She's hot and she's feisty and she's f...

10 Dorky Things About Me

Decided I'd share a little about  myself today. Somehow that turned into sharing dorky things because really, when it comes down to it, I think the dorky things are the best things about me. I love Twilight - the books, not the movies (as if somehow that makes it cooler). Although, I must admit, I have still seen the movies several times & bought both of them. I also have purchased my tickets in advance for the Eclipse movie. Even though I am not crazy about the movies, I seem to have this need to be a part of their transition to film. Dorky? Um, yes. I watch the entire season of Friends at least once a year. My husband and I used to watch an episode a night from the time we were dating up until Isis was born. Then, understandably, things got crazy. We have recently started again with Season 1. I have seen them all so many times that I can play several of the episodes in my head in their entirety. It's like a party in my brain. I have seen Newsies more times than any oth...

To watch or not to watch...the TV discussion

This is totally debatable & I'm interested in hearing different opinions of moms who have been there. It's so funny that I'm so interested in this because I'm such a major TV watcher! Lewis and I have always been of the opinion that our children will not watch TV until they are 2 years old. I want lots more reading, crafts, games, etc. Even when they are 2, TV will be limited to probably two shows per day. And this doesn't include movies. We want to have family movie nights and things like that. We are still following this plan as of right now, but have heard lots of different opinions and would like to get some insight from others. I've broken down some pro and con arguments I have thought of myself or have heard from others. I'm looking for comments or additional insight! Keep in mind that for me , these are arguments for or against TV under the age of 2 . I'm ok with TV for my kids after the age of 2. I think educational programs are really benefi...
