It's Like Book Crack

I have a confession to make. I have been slacking on my blog. It may not seem like it because I’ve posted a lot this week, but I like to post once a day & I like to read/comment on other blogs for at least a few minutes every day & I seriously went a couple of days without really doing much of anything with my blog. This is completely allowed, of course. It’s MY blog & I can do with it what I want. I also have a family & friends & people I need to see in real life. But I must confess that they are not why I have been slacking on my blog.

Twilight
Eclipse and Breaking Dawn Movie

I have been slacking on my blog because I saw the Eclipse movie TWICE & have now started reading Breaking Dawn again & it has sucked me right back in to the phenomenon that IS the Twilight Saga!

This did not happen with the other two movies! This is the problem with the movies actually being as good as you could expect a movie from a book to be (which is not normally all that great in my book-snob opinion). Since Eclipse was pretty stinkin’ good I am now right back in the middle of the nerd-fest. I have forced myself to put the Breaking Dawn book down long enough for me to read & comment on some blogs, write some posts & get my weekend reading post done for you! But I feel like it's calling to me from the other side of the bed...

Is anyone else having this problem after seeing Eclipse??
I’ve also decided that although I am full-on Team Edward in the books, I may be mildly Team Jacob in the movies. I feel nerdy for even getting wrapped up in the “Team” thing, but seriously - if you haven’t read the books, give them a shot & see if you don’t get just as wrapped up in it.
It’s like book crack.

I hear you. I'm about to start reading it all over again. I just need to make sure I'm caught up on my laundry first.
I thought this was the best movie so far...and I would totally reread all my Twilight series books, if I knew where I put them after we moved! lol

I've got to tell ya', I read all 4 books before the movie and they were great. And I love my paranormal books, but truth is these weren't the best. At least not for me. I admit I couldn't put the books down, but I don't have the need to re-read them. I have over 300 hard copy books and maybe over 100 e-books, and many of them I've re-read when I know the next book in the series is coming soon. Sometimes I re-read from the beginning of the series. But this one, I have no need to. I think it's Bella. She just ticks me off.

I am so happy to know I'm not alone in this!!!

And Vanita - I totally get it about Bella. But somehow Edward makes it worth it for me. I totally fought reading the books at first. But now I've read them all multiple time - except Breaking Dawn. So it needs to be read again. I feel like it was feeling left out of my obsession.

You just put everything I've been thinking into words. I saw it again yesterday and I have plans to see it a 3rd time with my mother-in-law.

After seeing it again, my 2 thoughts were: I want to read Breaking Dawn again and I kinda feel for Jacob in these movies. I love Edward too, but Jacob was very convincing.

Gosh, I'm back in the nerdiness as well. Glad to see I'm not alone.

I know what you mean! I saw Eclipse Monday and though it took me a day to warm up to it, the more I couldn't get it out of my head, the more tempted I am to rush to see it again! I saw the first 2 twice in theaters, but it was spaced apart, once shortly after the release then one more time a month later to 'hold me over' until the DVD hit shelves, but this one it was right away I just can't wait to see it again! I have held off the temptation to dive back into the books because I have other stuff keeping my busy right now and I know I would get sucked in! And yeah I feel more for the Jacob on screen then the one in the book as for getting the girl. He is so different on screen then I had pictured when I first opened the books.

I will be totally honest. I don't really like the Twilight series. She has a pretty good storyline but I don't feel like she is the best writer around. In fact, I don't think she's even mediocre compared to other writers out there now and in the past. I almost never say this, but I like the movies better than the books.

I do know what you mean about having to re-read things as the movie comes out. I'm that way about Harry Potter. Even though I don't really like the Twilight series, I can understand where people are coming from in their love for it because that's how I feel about Harry Potter.

I completely agree! It's SO addicting. It shouldn't be allowed to be that addicting. Oh and I too am a Team Edward supporter!

I am also reading breaking dawn for the second time, which is really distracting me from studying for my boards that I'm taking in three weeks! Ooops.
Cameron, my daughter is completely obsessed & has read ths series of books 6 times now, she completes them & then reads the Harry Potter series & then goes back to twilight again & repeats the cycle!!!

I might just be tempted to try out this "crack". I just recently saw the first two movies and I'm so hooked, but haven't seen Eclipse. But I'm all for it!!! What do you suggest first, reading or watching? I haven't read any of the books yet...

Oh goodness. I was not even tempted to actually open a book, but now that you said "crack" you have me drooling. lol I just may have to read one.
Tee hee, book crack. I don't read books but rather blogs. It must be my attention span. Your enthusiasm however, ALMOST makes me want to crack open a book.

I've not read the books nor seen the movies. I feel like I'm missing a bit of pop culture.

10 on Tuesday: 10 Favorite 6 Month Pics

This is completely gratuitous, just me posting pictures of Isis, but my friend Hannah took some pictures of our family yesterday! She is such a great photographer & she is also going to be watching Isis for me in the fall when I start my student teaching. I feel so blessed to have her as a friend on top of the fact that she takes gorgeous pictures of Isis!! I also realized that I didn't put any of the ones where she is smiling in this post. This just means I'll have to post more another time! Get excited! (And this is not a great comment-grabbing post , but who cares? This is for the digital baby book!)
