31DBBB Week 1 Stats

So this is interesting & I don't totally understand what it all means - I need to ask Lynda - but my visits & page views went down, but people are apparently spending a little more time on my site when they do visit. My website grade, blog grade & Alexa rank are better this week. I have a lot more Twitter followers & a higher Twitter grade. I think I need to publicize my Facebook page a little more. Not sure how you can get less views & your grade & rank go up?? Oh well, I'm having fun with the 31DBBB & I feel like I'm getting a lot out of it already!

How are your stats??

I've never seen "grades" before. I'll have to look into what that means.

What do you do to have so many Twitter followers? I don't have many, but seem to have a lot of Facebook fans. I don't see Twitter helping me at all though, I feel like it's just a time-suck with no payoff.

I looked myself up on Alexa before and it was crazy. The stats were way too good to be real - noting my visitor count way way WAY higher than my Sitemeter did, etc. I don't know how much stock I hold in that.

That is totally weird that your stats went down, but your stats were amazing to begin with. I am really excited to see the changes in my stats after a week of the challenge, hopefully they've gone up a little!

Thanks for stopping by Sunny Bug - I have Hello, Cupcake on my loooong list of baking books...someday :) Your stats are interesting...I just started tracking my stats this week as a result of #31DBBB and I started Twitter this week too. I'm also enjoying the tasks - a lot of thought-provoking tasks that's making me rethink my goals. I'm following now, btw...I can't wait to read more!

I don't know anything about google analytics, but I want to figure it out one of these days.

I had no idea you can track how long someone is on your site for. Sometimes I leave blogs open all day on my computer to remind myself to read them later when I have time, but I had no idea that could be calculated with that analytics stuff.

Very interesting!

Oh and I just gave you an award on my blog, so you're clearly inspiring people!

Thanks for reminding me to check my progress this week with the site tracking pages. Everything went up for me EXCEPT page views and visits which were 50 lower than last week :( gr!
But whatever it is, i am meeting so many awesome people and getting to check out so many awesome blogs that Im LOVING this challenge!

I am constantly checking my stats to see what's up - and while overall they haven't changed all that much this past week, I have noticed a bunch of visits coming specifically from the #31DBBB discussions on the Blog Frog. Like you, I also gained a whole new slew of followers!

I think that sometimes we have to just sit back and not worry so much about stats, because then we might lose sight of what's important - the actual content.

I think it's kind of weird your stats basically stayed the same or went down. Are you sure you're reading it right? If not and you're using Google Analytics, let me know if you want me to help out. I think you can just grant me access to your stats if you want any help reading them.
