4 Months Old!!

Man oh man my baby girl is growing up!!! Seriously in the last week, it has felt like I've seen so many changes!! She is "talking" all the time now! It seems like she always has to be making noise! I love it and look forward to the days when she's just chatting all the time! I was in Target the other day and kept walking past a mom & her son, who was probably about 8 or 9, and he was just talking & talking - I mean every time I passed them, he was just non-stop. She kept looking at me with this, "I am so sorry" look on her face, but I LOVED it! (I am totally cut out to be a Kindergarten teacher.)

She's started batting at toys and grabbing things and she can definitely pull things to her mouth now! She tries to put everything in her mouth! We went to eat at Olive Garden last night and she was sitting in my lap & I was drinking water from my glass & she kept touching the glass & then trying to put it in her mouth. I think it's really cute. It's very helpful now since I still think she's got a tooth bothering her, so she can now chew on things as she pleases!

Her feet finally fit in shoes! 0-3 month shoes as a 4 month old, but still it's a step! I got her some cute little silver sandals to wear with all her dresses this summer! We have 2 weddings to go to this summer, so she'll be fancy.

She's still sleeping great! Some days she will wake up once during the night, but most of the time she sleeps until 7:30am. She takes all her naps in her crib - unless we are out running errands or something - in which case she'll sleep in her carseat/carrier or in the stroller. Her naps are shorter then, but I don't care. She's down to 3 naps a day most days. We've eliminated the 4th nap for the most part. Some days she'll wake up from her 3rd nap around 3:30pm or something - in which case she does end up taking a 4th nap around 5:30 for 30 minutes. But overall, I have no cause for complaints!

One thing that has gotten SO weird with her is that she has stopped eating a lot on the schedule I had her on before (every 3 hours with a 2 hr span before bed). So I'm having to stretch her schedule a little so she eats better. I'm going to post about this more specifically in a few minutes, but basically I think she's just getting ready for a longer schedule. It all just means she's growing up!!

I'm not introducing solids yet. I know several moms with kids around Isis' age and they've seen signs that their babies are ready for solids - at least rice cereal - around this age, but I don't think Isis is ready yet. My doctor said it isn't necessary unless you want to introduce them before 6 months, so we are just going to wait until then. I might introduce some rice cereal around 5 1/2 months, but I don't see any reason to do it now. I'm also going to post on this later.

So all in all, we're at 4 months and totally happy! This is the age I'm really liking! I'm happy the first 4 months went by quickly because some parts of that were just ROUGH. Now it's still daily taking care of a baby, but it's much more enjoyable because she interacts with us so much more!! I'd be ok if she kinda slowed down at this point, but it's not gonna happen. This is going to be the fastest year of my life!!

Yay for 4 months!!! Our 4 month dr. visit is May 12 - we've gotta get more shots. Boo. I'll let you know how it goes!

10 on Tuesday: 10 Favorite 6 Month Pics

This is completely gratuitous, just me posting pictures of Isis, but my friend Hannah took some pictures of our family yesterday! She is such a great photographer & she is also going to be watching Isis for me in the fall when I start my student teaching. I feel so blessed to have her as a friend on top of the fact that she takes gorgeous pictures of Isis!! I also realized that I didn't put any of the ones where she is smiling in this post. This just means I'll have to post more another time! Get excited! (And this is not a great comment-grabbing post , but who cares? This is for the digital baby book!) How to Efficiently Read Blogs

Have you ever been just completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of blogs out there you can read? I have. Wow. So many fabulous people I'm interested in reading about! I love the stories, the humor, the pictures, the tips, the giveaways, the links, I just love it all! So I've found myself having to streamline my blog reading in order to better manage my time & make sure I hit the "must-reads" for me. Here's how I've done it: First of all, if you leave a comment on my blog or if you follow my blog, I will go to your blog & at the very least I will follow you on Google Friend Connect . This way the blog shows up on my blogger dashboard when I log in. I always look over the new posts that are there when I log in each day, but if you've looked at my Google Friend Connect page lately, you'll see that I follow a lot of people's blogs! So I had to come up with a more specific approach in addition to the blogger dashboard. This is where my Goog

5 Blogging Pet Peeves

Blogging pet peeves are obviously going to be different depending on the blogger or blog reader. I am not an expert, but I have been blogging for more than 3 years between this blog & my other one. So I've seen a lot of blogs & read a lot of tips. Here are 5 things from my perspective that will really help you as a blogger &  me as a reader. 1. Offer a full RSS feed Oh my goodness this gets on my nerves!! I don't know if people think that offering a partial feed will get people to click on their page more or something? But really all it does it gets most people from what I've seen to NOT subscribe or visit your blog at all. There are maybe 2 bloggers that I subscribe to their feed even if they don't offer a full feed & that's only because they email & converse with me regularly & in some way make up for the fact that I can't see their feed in my reader. So just offer a full feed.  There is some debate about the issue, but in every debate
