I REGISTERED!!!

Diana & I went to Babies R Us yesterday and registered!!! I'm excited!!! I am still working on the registry a little bit! There were a couple of things that I knew I really wanted that they didn't have in the store, so I'm going to find them and add them online! And I'm still working on the travel system thing. Yes, there are like 3 travel systems on my registry right now. Only because I'm still lowering it down to my favorite! Check it out if you're interested! So far I have these 2 registries: Babies R Us Kelly's Closet (password: grobaby) I think I'll also do one at Target. Not to be super high maintenance or anything. I would have just done the 2 (Babies R Us & Target), but all my cloth diaper stuff is on the Kelly's Closet one!

Feel free to check it out if you're interested! You can search using my name & the password is "grobaby." I'll let you know how the registering goes!!!

Ring Slings & Baby Legs!

My friend Lauren has a website & blog for moms & I love it! She shares lots of cool advice & information! She is a doula & she teaches pregnancy & childbirth classes at Baby Moon. She uses cloth diapers & has 2 beautiful little girls! Check out her website ! She shared her favorite Sling - the LilPeeperKeepers ring slings!! I love them!! We went to lunch the other day & she had hers with her & I absolutely fell in love with it! She was able to have her hands free while still carrying her daughter & on top of that, her baby girl looked so happy & comfortable in the sling! I want one so bad!!! Check them out here !! (And if anyone in my family is reading this & is interested in buying me one, I like the Midnight one !!) Image Source I also really love the BabyLegs leg warmers for kids!! They are so cute & they provide warmth & protection for knees when babies are crawling around! Look how cute that little boy in leg warmers (& a cl

Registering Questions

What makes a certain travel system better than another one? What should I be looking for? I know to look for the weight of the stroller & the weight of baby that the carseat/carrier fits, but what else? I looked at the Chicco one that Morganne said she has! It looks great to me! But so does the Graco Metrolite. What makes them different? And why are some travel systems super cheap while others are more expensive? Also what about cribs? What makes one better than another one? Oh and did you all use the crib all the time or did you get a bassinet or a Moses basket or a Pack 'n Play? I just don't know what I need or don't need. Like what would you say you registered for that you didn't end up needing or using a lot? Or what did you not register for because you didn't think you would need it but then you did? Or what did you skip registering because you knew it wasn't necessary and you were right - it really wasn't? I just don't get it yet. I'm not s

May I please vent?

I am developing my thick mothering skin & my natural protective instinct apparently. But it isn't fully developed yet and I need to just vent about what's been going on lately. We found out 2 days ago that we are having a girl. I had already told most people that asked that if we had a girl, we were naming her Isis. As you all know, I also posted it on this blog. It is not a "normal" name. It is definitely unique & you probably don't know anyone named Isis. And let me first say this: if you know me at all, did you really expect that I would have kids with normal average names? I was never meant to have an Emma or an Ava or an Emily (I picked those because they are all in the top 10 on the social security list, not because I don't like them). I was meant to have an Isis or a Samaire or a Sonora. It just fits with me & Lewis. I think it is important to pick a name that fits the parents - popular or not. We just happen to fall in the not quite so popu

Baby Isis!

There she is!!

20 weeks: IT'S A GIRL!!!

We went for our 20-week ultrasound today & found out we are having a girl!! They said everything looks perfect! I have been very blessed so far to have a very easy pregnancy. I feel very fortunate! The first 5 weeks or so were not so fun with nausea, but that's really nothing in the long run, so I'm very happy! I was telling Lewis that maybe we need to amend our "2 biological kids" plan to maybe be 3 because I'm good at being pregnant! haha we'll see. So now Isis Ruby Clark has officially become a member of the family, although she'll maintain her residence inside mommy's belly for the time being. We look forward to her arrival at the end of the year / beginning of next year! And now the fun stuff begins...REGISTERING!!!! I am so excited about picking out different things for our first baby!! I've been a regular visitor to www.babiesrus.com the past few months! I've already got my eye on a couple of things! I'm also very excited that my

Recipes!

I've been writing on my Ingenue Perspective blog about my new practice of meal planning & cooking at home! This is a very new thing for us! We are definitely eat out kind of people, but that costs a lot of money & with a baby on the way & me not being able to work for a little while because of student teaching, we need to save some money! These are the 2 recipes I've made so far: Mexican Rice Casserole **Note: I used ground turkey meat instead of ground beef & I added corn & chopped onions to this recipe.** Ingredients 1 package ground beef 1 package taco seasoning 1 8 oz can tomato sauce 2 cups rice 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Directions 1. Cook 2 cups rice with 4 3/4 cup water. Bring water to boil, add rice, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. 2. Brown ground beef. Drain. Return to skillet, add 3/4 cup water, taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Stir through. 3. Add ground beef to rice. Put into 9×13 baking dish. Top with shredded cheese. Bak
